Toshiba Tecra M10 Laptop Review
Toshiba is a leading manufacturer of laptops and its Tecra range is renowned for extra protection, security and durability. The latest edition in this range of laptops is the Toshiba Tecra M10, which is based on the platform of Intel’s Centrino 2 vPro. The laptop is backed by memory of 3GB of 800MHz DDR 2 and .53GHz Core 2 Duo processor. The device comes with large casing, multi format DVD rewriter, 250 GB Sata hard drive, eSata connector and four USB ports.
- The Body – Toshiba Tecra M10 is a 1.5 inch thick device. Out of this, 11 mm is the thickness of the lid only. There are two shades in which Toshiba Tecra M10 is available. These two shades are metallic grey and matte black. The dimension of the notebook is 336.8 x 245.0 x 36.4-38.4mm and its total weight is 2.44 kg. On the left side of the notebook, you will find multi-format memory card slot, ExpressCard 54 bay, USB/eSata ports and RS-232. The right portion of the device is equipped with optical drive, a 56 kbps modem outlet, a smart card reader and the remaining USB ports. On the frontal parts, there are seven LEDs showing different status of different functions, microphone. Etc.
- The Performance – Though the notebook promises a lot but as per few experts, the performance of the device is not that good. The built in GPU of Toshiba Tecra M10 is similar to that of the Dell Lattitude E6400. In terms of 3DMark06 graphic test, the performance is bit better. Toshiba Tecra M10 features high resolution but it holds back the relative graphics performance of PCMark05. The battery life of the laptop is quite good and it provides back up up to three hours. In case Wi Fi connection is used and the screen is set with maximum brightness, the battery will run for around one hour twenty one minutes.
Overall, the features and services of Toshiba Tecra M10 are quite good and well appreciated by the users. There are eight models of M10 range from Toshiba and the price of these models range from around $935 to $1532.
