Lenovo ThinkPad T500 is an edition of the T Series ThinkPad that has several new highlights than its contemporaries. T500 ThinkPad includes DisplayPort connection, ATI Hybrid graphics, and best of Intel’s offerings. The 15.4 inches screen offers CCFL-backlit display. Though the brightness factor is not as high as the LED backlight T400, but still ThinkPad T500 is among the bests in the market. The display is very bright and hence it is not suitable to use this notebook on direct sunlight as the backlight will wash things off the screen. The contrast is also good enough but the viewing angle is just about average. Vertical display is good up to certain extent but after that the colors start inverting. Horizontal viewing is comparatively much better.

• The Design : – There are certain subtle changes in the design of Lenovo ThinkPad T500 from the earlier version. There is a gentle slope on the right side of the device. The sides are angled towards the inner portion instead of being flat. The optical drive bezel features a pleasant beveled border. The rubber feet don’t slide much on the desk surface and it is quite soft. There are molded plastic panels all through the device that looks quite cheap. Otherwise, the finishing of the design is good enough compared to other ThinkPad notebooks by Lenovo.
• The Keyboard : – The keyboard of Lenovo ThinkPad T500 is more or similar to the predecessors of Lenovo ThinkPad devices. The right portion of the keyboard appears to provide more flex. The old design of the keyboard used to have much stronger back-plate that is not the case with the latest version. This is because Lenovo tried to reduce weight factor.
• The Touchpad : – The touchpad is much improved. The thickness of the lower touchpad buttons are expanded on Lenovo ThinkPad T500. The touchpad is marked with scroll arrows and it is quite sensitive also. The buttons are firm and easy to handle. Overall, the touchpad feature of ThinkPad T500 is good.
• Graphics : – Lenovo ThinkPad T500 provides good graphics support on the 15.4” WXGA or WSXGA+ Widescreen. Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 acts as the graphics controller of the system.
